Job Description

Overview

As a Respiratory Student Extern at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, you will support the hospital's respiratory therapy team by maintaining and processing respiratory care equipment. This role is designed for current respiratory students who are looking to gain practical experience while contributing to vital patient care initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform daily equipment processing of all respiratory equipment, including disassembly, cleaning, and testing
  • Order, stock, and maintain respiratory supplies and equipment using LEAN processes
  • Assist in performing inventory of department equipment and supplies with accuracy
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of oxygen gas cylinders in storage and on patient care areas
  • Provide assistance to Respiratory Care Practitioners as necessary
  • Identify and retrieve electrical equipment due for calibration and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain a clean work area and ensure supplies are neatly organized

Required skills

  • Current respiratory student within one year of graduation
