Overview

As a Respiratory Student Extern at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in supporting respiratory care by maintaining and monitoring equipment. This position is ideal for current respiratory students looking to gain practical experience in a healthcare environment dedicated to community service and patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform daily processing of respiratory equipment, including disassembly, cleaning, and testing
  • Order, stock, and maintain respiratory supplies and equipment
  • Assist in inventory counts of department equipment and supplies with 100% accuracy
  • Manage the inventory of oxygen gas cylinders
  • Assist Respiratory Care Practitioners as needed
  • Identify and retrieve equipment for calibration and maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Required skills

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Current respiratory student within one year of graduation
  • Ability to work on a part-time basis
  • Technical clinical thinking
  • Customer service skills
