Job Description

Overview

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital is responsible for providing evaluation and care for respiratory therapy patients. The role involves administering respiratory therapeutic services based on physician's orders and developing care plans according to patient diagnoses.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate treatment and develop care plans
  • Provide respiratory care services in accordance with physician's orders and guidelines
  • Monitor and communicate patient conditions
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and community support
  • Maintain and calibrate medical equipment
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses
  • Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels

Required skills

  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent experience
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
