Job Description

Overview

SSM Health's St. Louis Regional Float Pool is looking for an experienced Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide evaluation and care for respiratory therapy patients. This full-time role offers a flexible schedule with 12-hour shifts and includes a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates who commit to a two-year service requirement.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate treatment type and frequency
  • Develop patient care plans based on diagnosis
  • Administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services
  • Monitor and record patient conditions
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and available programs
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses
  • Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels

Required skills

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent experience
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • Communication skills
  • Patient care knowledge
  • Emergency response capabilities
  • Clinical collaboration experience
