Job Description

Overview

SSM Health's St. Louis Regional Float Pool is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide evaluation and care for respiratory therapy patients. This full-time role offers a flexible schedule with 36 hours per week, including the option for either day or night shifts, and is designed for professionals dedicated to high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate treatment and develop care plans
  • Administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services
  • Monitor and record patient conditions and responses
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and available resources
  • Maintain and calibrate medical equipment
  • Participate in departmental inventory management
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed

Required skills

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent experience
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • Experience in respiratory therapy (no prior experience required)
  • Ability to perform advanced respiratory care modalities
  • Strong communication and patient assessment skills
