Job Description

Overview

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (CRT) at SSM Health St. Clare provides evaluation and care for respiratory therapy patients. This role involves administering prescribed respiratory therapeutic services and monitoring patient conditions through a variety of advanced care modalities.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment types and frequencies
  • Develop care plans based on patient diagnosis
  • Provide respiratory care services per physician's orders and department policies
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and community support resources
  • Maintain and calibrate respiratory therapy equipment
  • Participate in maintaining departmental inventory of supplies
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses
  • Perform other assigned duties

Required skills

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner certification
  • Skills in patient assessment and education
  • Experience with emergency response
