Overview

SSM Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to join their team at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, Missouri. This full-time night shift position involves providing respiratory therapy to patients, evaluating their needs, and administering prescribed treatments. Qualified applicants will have the opportunity to earn a sign-on bonus and will play a crucial role in patient care within a supportive healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate treatments and develop care plans
  • Provide respiratory care services according to physician's orders and department policies
  • Monitor and communicate patient conditions
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities and evaluate practice based on outcomes
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and available support
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and inventory management
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses
  • Perform other assigned duties

Required skills

  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent experience
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • Experience with respiratory therapy modalities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift and move patients
  • Proficiency in equipment maintenance
