Overview

The Respiratory Care Practitioner at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles is responsible for evaluating and providing care for respiratory therapy patients. This full-time position involves administering prescribed therapies, monitoring patient conditions, and educating patients and families about respiratory health.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate treatment type and frequency
  • Develop care plans based on patient diagnosis
  • Administer respiratory care services according to physician orders
  • Monitor and communicate patient conditions
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions
  • Assist with equipment care, calibration, and maintenance
  • Participate in maintaining inventory levels for supplies
