Job Posting Title: Resin Room Lead - Job Title: Resin Room Lead Location: Mooresville, North Carolina Responsible to: General Manager Responsible for: None Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM Work Times: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday. A degree of flexibility will be needed at peak periods. Salary: Full time, non-exempt position. OverviewSHD Composite Materials Inc. was incorporated in August 2018 to service the expanding American and Canadian composite industries. The North American HQ is in Mooresville, North Carolina, and became a fully operational manufacturing facility in 2019. The Tulsa site became operational in 2023. SHD Composite Materials Inc. manufactures advanced composite pre-impregnated, or prepreg, materials. With a growing global presence, the company services the American prepreg market with high-quality prepreg, fast turnaround times, and world-class technical support.The company's core strength is the ability to supply high- and low-volume products, with a wide range of tooling and component products throughout America and around the world.The purpose of this role is to manufacture pre-impregnated composite materials to aerospace-accredited standards. -Ideal PersonThe ideal person for this role is responsible, safety-minded, quality-focused, and able to monitor manufacturing machines to ensure work runs smoothly and according to schedule while following standard operating procedures. -Key Responsibilities:Manufacturing / Production Operations• Always adhere to company Health & Safety procedures, including external compliance such as OSHA.• Work to company quality standards, including AS9100 requirements and production tolerances.• Work as an effective team member and assist the Team Leader and Senior Operators in meeting team targets, production targets, and KPIs.• Assist with stock control and cycle stock counts.• Calibrate Gel Block, record Gel time, identify resin and labels, clean resin bowls and utensils, operate and clean bowl wash, replace plastic on floor, operate ovens, dump resin, weigh resin, operate scales, operate sieve, make pre-mix, empty trash, stock ovens for night, manage troughs, and operate vacuum chamber.• Mix resins according to SOPs while using all required safety equipment and PPE.• Be aware of and watch for the exothermal process.Training / Additional Duties • Training and duties will be done as assigned.Safety / Quality / Housekeeping• Maintain the highest standard of housekeeping to keep a clean and safe working environment.• Support waste reduction and production cost minimization.• Complete paperwork required to comply with AS9100 Quality standards.• Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.Skills and Ability• Good understanding of English and Math's.• Basic computer skills.• Attention to detail is a must.• Ability to work/lead in a team, as well as being a positive example in a team environment.• Clear and effective.• Previous hands-on experience in manufacturing, the application of production systems, and/or mixing of industrial applications in manufacturing is strongly preferred.Work Environment / Essential Physical Demands• Ability to perform physical work for extended periods of time.• Possible weekend work and overtime required.• Must have good vision.• Ability to frequently bend, lift up to 50 lbs., and reach.• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day.• Ability to frequently push and pull items up to 150 lbs. using lifting equipment.• Ability to safely, effectively, and reliably receive and give urgent and other essential communications in a factory environment. Ability to detect abnormalities in the process and receive safety signals using visual, tactile, or auditory senses.• Must be able to follow all safety and company policies and procedures.• Must be able to wear all required PPE.• Must be able to work in a typical manufacturing environment on concrete floors.
