Overview

Lutheran Social Services of WI & Upper MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide essential repair and maintenance services for their facilities in Waukesha and Oconomowoc. This full-time position features a 4-day work week while ensuring safe and welcoming environments for residents and staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work on apartment buildings and offices
  • Handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections
  • Maintain property appearance and curb appeal
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls as part of an on-call rotation
  • Collaborate with team members, vendors, and contractors
  • Operate snow removal and grounds maintenance equipment
  • Purchase supplies and materials as needed

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2+ years of general maintenance or building repair experience preferred
  • Knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry)
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow safety procedures
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel between locations
