Overview

The Resident Care Director at Legacy Pointe at UCF is responsible for overseeing all resident services in the Assisted Living and Memory Care neighborhoods, ensuring compliance with state regulations while promoting resident independence, dignity, and quality of life. This role includes clinical oversight, staff management, and fostering a supportive environment for residents with varying needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the resident admission process for Assisted Living and Memory Care.
  • Conduct ongoing nursing assessments and evaluations.
  • Provide clinical oversight and leadership for Memory Care residents.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and nursing staff.
  • Ensure residents maintain independence while following safety and dignity protocols.
  • Enforce Resident Rights and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Maintain accurate resident records and communications.
  • Oversee the resident transfer and discharge process.
  • Counsel residents and families regarding care needs and available resources.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.

Required skills

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience in Assisted Living or related healthcare setting
  • Minimum one year of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Experience with residents with Alzheimer's disease or dementia
  • Completion of Florida ALF Core Training (required within designated timeframe)
  • Knowledge of AHCA regulations and best practices for Memory Care operations
