Job Description

Overview

As a Power Electronics Research Engineer at GE Vernova, you will be involved in the development of new power electronics concepts, including system modeling, design, and testing of power converters. You will work on innovative power technologies and contribute to advanced power conversion concepts for applications in power generation and distribution.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning, development, and transition of technologies from concept to products for GE clients
  • Contribute to the development of new power technologies within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Effectively communicate results through written reports and presentations
  • Connect the organization to the latest technological developments in the power electronics industry
  • Contribute to proposal efforts for GE businesses and government agencies

Required skills

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field, or Master's with 2+ years of experience
  • 3+ years conducting power electronics research through model simulation and design
  • 3+ years developing and testing power converters and devices
  • 3+ years developing and testing control solutions for power converters
  • Familiarity with DC grid concepts, energy storage, microgrids, and grid integration of renewables
  • Eligibility for a Secret Clearance with the ability to attain a Top-Secret Clearance
