Job Description

Overview

As a Power Electronics Research Engineer at GE Vernova, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on developing innovative power electronics concepts. Your responsibilities will include modeling, simulating, designing, and testing power converters and associated devices for applications in power generation and distribution.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning, development, and transition of technologies from concept to products and services
  • Participate in the development of new power technologies and capabilities for next generation product platforms
  • Prepare written reports and presentations to effectively communicate analysis and solutions
  • Stay connected to the latest technological developments and trends in the power electronics industry
  • Support proposal efforts for GE businesses and government agencies

Required skills

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in power e
  • 3+ years of experience in conducting power electronics research, including model simulation and design
  • Experience in developing and testing power converters and devices
  • Experience in developing and testing control solutions for power converters
  • Familiarity with DC grid concepts, energy storage, microgrids, and grid integration of renewables
  • Current or active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance
