Job Description

Overview

As a Power Electronics Research Engineer at GE Vernova, you will engage in the research and development of innovative power electronics systems. Your responsibilities will include system modeling, design, and testing of power converters, as well as EMI filter design for converter applications, contributing to advancements in power generation, transmission, and distribution technologies.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop new power electronics concepts and capabilities for next generation products
  • Conduct power electronics research through modeling and simulation
  • Design and test power converters and converter submodules
  • Characterize power electronics devices and perform EMI filter design for applications
  • Prepare written reports and presentations to communicate results
  • Contribute to proposal efforts for internal and external clients

Required skills

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field, or Master's degree with 2 years of experience
  • 3+ years experience conducting power electronics research
  • 3+ years experience developing and testing power converters and devices
  • 3+ years experience developing and testing control solutions for power converters
  • Familiarity with DC grid concepts, energy storage, microgrids, and grid integration of renewables
  • Technical communication skills
