Overview

Peek Law Group is seeking a motivated Removal Defense Immigration Attorney for their Austin or San Antonio office. The firm specializes in Criminal Defense and Immigration law, aiming to provide compassionate and effective representation while striving for outstanding results in removal and deportation proceedings.

Key responsibilities

  • Represent both detained and non-detained clients in immigration removal proceedings, including cancellation of removal, asylum, and bond hearings.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, and engage in courtroom advocacy.
  • Implement department policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Maintain communication with clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring compassionate and effective representation.
  • Travel regularly to jails, immigration courts, and detention centers in Central Texas for client representation.

Required skills

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • 1-5 years of experience as an immigration attorney focused on removal defense
  • JD degree from an accredited law school with an active license to practice law in any U.S. state
  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Direct EOIR courtroom experience
  • Valid driver's license for necessary travel within Central Texas

  • $95,000-$130,000 salary based on experience, plus annual performance bonus
