Overview

The Reliability Technician at West Fraser is responsible for maintaining and operating the planer machine, ensuring proper setup and quality finish of products. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and assisting on major repairs as needed, while adhering to safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures
  • Perform critical measurements using calipers
  • Set, monitor, and maintain the planer machine
  • Perform minor repairs and conduct routine maintenance and lubrication
  • Assist maintenance on major repairs of machines
  • Maintain proper tolerances and ensure constant lumber flow through the planer
  • Change knives as necessary
  • Complete the West Fraser Qualified Millwright training and competency checklist
