Job Description

Overview

As a Refrigeration Technician at Pilgrim's, you will be an integral part of a proactive maintenance team responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of refrigeration equipment. This role requires collaboration and effective communication while working in various environments, including extreme temperatures.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain refrigeration equipment including freezer doors and dock levelers
  • Perform administrative duties and keep logs and records
  • Ensure tools and equipment in the compressor room are clean and in good working order
  • Attend refrigeration classes every three years to maintain certification
  • Work in extreme temperatures and humidity
  • Participate in PSM program and ongoing education
  • Adapt to various shifts, including holidays and weekends

Required skills

  • 5 years of refrigeration and HVAC experience
  • CFC universal certification
  • Welding skills and willingness to learn other maintenance skills
  • Ability to lift 85 lbs and work at heights
  • Knowledgeable of ammonia, Freon, CO2, natural gas, and LP gas
  • Ability to work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees)
  • Good communication and decision-making skills
  • Ability to pass physical, PFT, and respirator fit tests in accordance with Haz-Mat certification
  • Team player with good hand-eye coordination
