Job Description

Overview

As a Refrigeration Technician at Pilgrim's in Old Fields, West Virginia, you will work as part of a maintenance team to ensure proper operation of refrigeration equipment. This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and a willingness to learn along with the provision of technical expertise in HVAC systems and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain refrigeration equipment including freezer doors and dock levelers
  • Complete administrative duties and maintain records such as P.M's and logs
  • Work in extreme temperatures and humidity conditions
  • Attend refrigeration classes every three years to maintain certification
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks and keep tools and equipment clean
  • Work with hazardous materials including ammonia and natural gas
  • Be flexible with working holidays, weekends, and varying shifts
  • Participate in the PSM program and ongoing education

Required skills

  • 5 years of refrigeration and HVAC experience
  • CFC universal certification
  • Welding skills
  • Haz-Mat training
  • Ability to lift 85 lbs and work at heights
  • Knowledge of controls, icemakers, heating, and air conditioning units
  • Good decision-making and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
