Job Description

Overview

The Refrigeration Foreman at CoolSys will lead and mentor a project crew of 5-7 individuals, overseeing the completion of refrigeration projects on time and within budget. This role involves hands-on work, including supermarket refrigeration installations and copper brazing, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and mentor project crew members
  • Prioritize and delegate responsibilities among team
  • Communicate with tradespeople on job site
  • Track project schedules to ensure timely completion
  • Serve as lead technical resource on assigned projects
  • Maintain productive relationships with peers, customers, GCs, and subcontractors
  • Control job costs and report on job status and performance
  • Ensure use of PPE and adherence to safety practices
  • Oversee the work of apprentices and journeymen on specific projects

Required skills

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial building construction or related industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of supermarket refrigeration installation experience
  • Hands-on experience with copper brazing and wiring
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Knowledge of construction principles and labor efficiency
  • Ability to organize tasks and make work assignments
  • Strong communication skills for guidance and instruction
  • Proficient in business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, and ERP software
  • Capability to manage time effectively and follow through on assignments
  • Compliance with safety policies and procedures
