Job Description

Overview

The Refrigeration Foreman at CoolSys is responsible for leading, training, and mentoring a project crew in commercial and industrial refrigeration installations. This role involves hands-on work as well as overseeing project schedules and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 5-7 people on assigned projects
  • Communicate job status and performance
  • Control job costs and maintain project schedules
  • Ensure compliance with installation policies and safety procedures
  • Direct and oversee the work of apprentices and journeymen
  • Perform hands-on tasks including copper brazing and supermarket refrigeration installations

Required skills

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial building construction or related trade
  • Minimum of 5 years of supermarket refrigeration installation experience
  • Hands-on experience with copper brazing and wiring
  • High school diploma or GED; college degree is a plus
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Knowledge of construction principles and practices
  • Ability to organize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Proficient with business tools including email and ERP software
  • Strong judgment and communication skills
