Job Description

Overview

Olymel is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer to join their dynamic team in Cornwall, Ontario. This role involves operating and maintaining various control systems to ensure the efficiency and quality of operations in a fast-paced work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate automated control systems
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment
  • Measure temperature flow and pressure
  • Analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunctions
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs as required
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance
  • Clean and lubricate machinery and components
  • Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance, and safety activities
  • Write plant or building operation reports
  • Assist in developing operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Refrigeration B certification
  • Proficient in the use of the Refrigeration Code
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Own tools required
  • Experience with computerized control systems
  • Knowledge of high- and low-pressure boilers, pumps, compressors, motors, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, meters
  • Ammonia refrigeration experience
  • HVAC knowledge
  • Familiarity with electronic controls, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and Freon Refrigeration Air Handling Units
