REFRIGERATION DESIGN ENGINEER LOCATION Tulsa, Oklahoma REPORTS TO Deputy Director of Refrigeration Engineering TEAM Mechanical/Refrigeration Engineering SUMMARY A Refrigeration Design Engineer will develop commercial refrigeration construction documents within a multi-discipline team. The role includes system design, calculations, equipment selection, coordination, field investigation, and construction support, with occasional local and national travel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develop code-compliant Refrigeration plans, details, schedules, specifications and equipment layouts. Perform load calculations, refrigerant pipe sizing, equipment selection, and capacity verification. Design and coordinate DX, secondary glycol, secondary CO2, and transcritical CO2 systems, as applicable. Review customer standards, prototype drawings, project requirements, codes, and industry standards. Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, and energy-management teams. Coordinate equipment dimensions, capacities, piping connections, electrical requirements, controls, and refrigerant charge information with suppliers. Review submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor-proposed changes. Perform site surveys, installation reviews, commissioning support, and resolve issues affecting scope, quality, or schedule. EDUCATION Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Equivalent technical education and experience may be considered. EIT (Engineer in Training) preferred. Entry-level through 10 years of relevant experience will be considered. REQUIRED SKILLS Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to interpret construction documents. Knowledge of refrigeration equipment and piping systems. Strong technical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work within multi-disciplinary team and meet project deadlines. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Commercial or retail refrigeration design experience Experience with Revit, 3D design, equipment-selection, or pipe-sizing software.
