Overview

The Referral Coordinator - Bilingual Spanish position at ClareMedica Health Partners in Tampa, FL, focuses on coordinating referral appointments for patients. This role is essential for providing patients with timely access to specialized care while ensuring an efficient referral process within the healthcare system.

Key responsibilities

  • Schedule and manage referral appointments with outside specialists.
  • Maintain knowledge of health plan carrier requirements for referral authorization.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients in person and over the phone.
  • Document and track referrals to ensure patient safety.
  • Provide clinical information to specialists per referral guidelines.
  • Assist patients in navigating healthcare system challenges.
  • Communicate referral details and expectations with patients.
  • Remind patients of scheduled appointments.
  • Conduct miscellaneous administrative tasks as directed.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of referral processing experience.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to type at least 40 WPM.
  • Proficient in basic phone and computer operation.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of problem-solving.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Preferred experience with EMR systems and healthcare.
