Overview

As a Reels Editor at Genesis Media, you'll play a crucial role in crafting engaging video content that captivates audiences and boosts clients' social media presence. You'll be responsible for transforming raw footage into captivating sequences that adhere to the strategic vision of the projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Clip down raw footage into usable moments
  • Sequence clips into a finished, ready-to-post reel
  • Remove dead space and anything that slows the pace
  • Enhance audio when necessary
  • Add clean, readable captions that support retention
  • Organize and categorize reels in Dropbox for the team
  • Follow the content schedule and meet deadlines
  • Communicate clearly with the Creative Director to align with the vision

Required skills

  • Years of hands-on editing experience (short-form required)
  • Proven track record of editing viral videos
  • Strong communication skills for feedback exchange
  • Understanding of social media growth and content dynamics
  • Knowledge of universal themes and attention triggers
