Job Description

Overview

Orica is seeking a Red Seal Mechanic to provide maintenance and repair support for mobile and static explosive pumping equipment. The role involves regular fleet maintenance and inspections, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring regulatory compliance while working in various sites across Western Canada.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair on explosive pumping and manufacturing equipment
  • Complete regular fleet maintenance and inspections via a preventative maintenance program
  • Troubleshoot all Orica explosive pumping equipment
  • Assist with vehicle audits and regulatory inspections
  • Ensure compliance with major hazard management regulations

Required skills

  • Inter Provincial Red Seal certificate - Heavy Duty or Truck and Transport
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in electrical and hydraulic repair and failure diagnosis
  • Familiarity with Detroit Diesel, Mercedes, CAT power plants
  • Knowledge of progressive cavity and gear pumps (asset)
  • Class 1 or Class 3 drivers' license with air (asset)
  • Clean driver's abstract
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft programs
  • Familiarity with SAP work order systems (preferred)
  • Strong safety background and organizational skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in all conditions
