Overview

The Recon Detail Manager at Nye Auto Group in Oneida, NY is responsible for overseeing the vehicle reconditioning process for both new and used vehicles, ensuring they meet dealership quality standards. This full-time position involves collaboration with various departments to optimize inventory turnover and profitability while maintaining cost control.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate acquired vehicles for mechanical, cosmetic, and safety issues
  • Open repair orders and assign work to technicians or vendors
  • Monitor progress of repairs, body work, paint, detailing, and inspections
  • Ensure reconditioning costs stay within approved budgets and negotiate pricing with vendors
  • Inspect completed vehicles to verify compliance with dealership standards
  • Coordinate photography, merchandising, and lot placement of vehicles
  • Maintain compliance with New York State safety and emissions requirements
  • Monitor and report key performance metrics related to reconditioning
