Job Description

Overview

The Recertification/Resident Coordinator at Portland Community Reinvestment Initiatives, Inc. (PCRI) is responsible for managing resident eligibility recertifications and coordinating unit inspections to comply with affordable housing regulations. This role serves as a liaison among residents, property management, compliance teams, and housing agencies, while also supporting various functions within the Property Management Team.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage annual, interim, and move-in certification processes for affordable housing residents
  • Notify residents of upcoming recertifications and required documentation deadlines
  • Conduct resident interviews to verify household information and eligibility
  • Collect and process third-party verifications and supporting documentation
  • Calculate household income, rent, and utility allowances per program requirements
  • Ensure recertifications are completed accurately and on time
  • Serve as primary contact for inspection-related questions and concerns
  • Inspect properties regularly and report repair needs
  • Educate residents on housing standards and inspection expectations
  • Collaborate with leadership and staff to meet occupancy and compliance goals

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred in business administration or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in housing, property management, or customer service
  • Experience with affordable housing programs and HUD regulations
  • Prior experience using Yardi Property Management software
  • Knowledge of rental assistance and affordable housing rules
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse communities and ensure confidentiality
