Overview

The Receiving Associate at Tractor Supply Company is responsible for receiving store inventory, selecting merchandise for shipping, and loading products onto trailers. This entry-level position focuses on accuracy, safety, and productivity while executing essential tasks in a distribution center environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments; check against bills of lading and packing slips.
  • Take inventory of merchandise and maintain records of goods received.
  • Identify, label, and palletize merchandise; process necessary documentation.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Conduct cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure that job assignments are completed accurately and promote safety standards.

Required skills

  • 0-2 years of experience in a distribution center
  • Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds continuously
  • Basic knowledge of operating material handling equipment
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English on a basic level
  • Basic math skills for counting and documentation
  • Ability to take initiative and offer solutions to problems
