Job Description

Overview

The R&D Technician for Prototype/Fabrication at Adams Thermal Systems is responsible for constructing prototype heat exchangers, ensuring quality and timely production. This role involves collaborating with teams to develop processes and tooling for new product introduction.

Key responsibilities

  • Build prototype parts according to ATS procedures and standards
  • Maintain 6S standards in the Prototype shop
  • Assist with testing tasks as required
  • Participate in teams for tooling and process development
  • Work on special projects as assigned

Required skills

  • Minimum 2 years post high school education in a technical field
  • Machining skills (manual upright mill and lathe)
  • MIG and TIG welding abilities for steel and aluminum
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Use of measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gage)
  • Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a team
  • Flexibility to work overtime and travel as required
  • Good verbal communication skills
