Job Description

Overview

Trendler, Inc is seeking an R&D Machinist to join their team in Chicago. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the development of custom tooling and precision parts, collaborating closely with engineering, production, and sales teams to bring new products from prototype to final production.

Key responsibilities

  • Build custom tooling, fixtures, dies, and precision parts
  • Safely operate and use machinery such as lathes, CNC machines, and milling machines
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair tooling, dies, and equipment
  • Calibrate, set up, and run machines and equipment
  • Read blueprints and sketches to design and maintain tools and fixtures
  • Design and build process automation equipment
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  • Maintain and sharpen shop tools as necessary

Required skills

  • Experience in CNC Machining and Tooling
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Quality Control expertise
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Creativity and ability to work independently
  • Computer literate with ability to interpret technical documents
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in machining and tool and die making
