Job Description

Overview

The Raw Material Buyer at Groupe DCM plays a crucial role in ensuring the continuity and efficiency of manufacturing operations within the aerospace industry. This position involves procuring materials while adhering to quality, cost, and delivery standards necessary for production. The Buyer will work on identifying internal needs, maintaining supplier relationships, and addressing any procurement-related challenges.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze and validate purchasing requirements for on-time delivery, cost, and supplier capacity.
  • Support follow-up on purchase orders, deliveries, and profitability of assigned programs.
  • Assist operations team with supplier delivery issues.
  • Communicate delivery issues and propose action plans.
  • Negotiate procurement requirements and ensure follow-up.
  • Validate compliance with procurement procedures and purchase order archiving.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
  • Perform related tasks as required.

Required skills

  • DEC or Bachelor's degree in administration, management, business, supply chain, or logistics.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in purchasing raw materials in the aerospace industry.
  • Hands-on purchasing experience in a technical manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and learning ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
  • Experience with an MRP/ERP system (EPICOR preferred).
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and collaborate with multiple departments.
