Overview

Horizon Air is seeking a Ramp & Customer Service Agent in Yakima, Washington, to support airport operations. This role involves assisting guests with their travel needs and performing ramp functions in a fast-paced environment, both above and below wing. Candidates should be adaptable, ready to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and possess strong communication skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist guests with travel needs including inquiries, baggage, and ticketing
  • Perform below wing tasks like transporting baggage, loading and offloading luggage, and aircraft marshaling
  • Conduct boarding and gate duties including directing guests and making announcements
  • Process and secure guest luggage, managing claims for damaged or delayed items
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate work during nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Participate in required training, potentially involving overnight travel
  • Adhere to airport security clearance requirements and ensure safety compliance

Required skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license issued by a US state
  • Ability to operate a computerized reservation system
  • Basic typing skills (at least 25 WPM)
  • Capability to lift 50 pounds consistently
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
