Overview

Plasser American Corp is seeking a Railroad Field Service Technician to provide technical services to their customers. This role involves operating, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing track maintenance equipment, while also instructing railroad personnel on its operation and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate, service, troubleshoot, and repair track maintenance equipment
  • Instruct railroad personnel in the operation and maintenance of track maintenance equipment
  • Read and understand hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics
  • Demonstrate mechanical knowledge and provide technical services
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound work ethics

Required skills

  • Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of computer control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables
