Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Radiology Technologist for the Electrophysiology Lab in New Orleans, Louisiana. This role involves assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac arrhythmias, operating diagnostic equipment, and caring for patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures. Candidates will be a part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to patient care and safety.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in patient setup and preparation before procedures.
  • Maintain sterile technique during implantation of cardiac devices.
  • Operate complex electrophysiology specialty equipment.
  • Monitor patient vitals and analyze electrocardiographic data.
  • Perform quality control standards for diagnostic imaging.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Adapt communication style to specific patient populations.

Required skills

  • Associate degree in radiologic sciences required, bachelor's preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist certification (ARRT).
  • Proficiency in computer usage and medical software.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Advanced EKG recognition and interpretation.
  • Ability to function in emergency care situations.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety regulations.
