Overview

The Radiology Technologist in the Acute Imaging Float Pool at OhioHealth is responsible for preparing patients for examinations and performing diagnostic radiology procedures in accordance with guidelines set by OhioHealth and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). This role involves working in a high reliability organization focused on safety, quality, and efficiency in patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic procedures, conducting routine and specialized fluoroscopy studies
  • Obtain diagnostic radiographs by positioning patients correctly and adjusting technical factors for optimal images
  • Prepare patients for examination by explaining procedures and ensuring proper attire
  • Assume duties of electronic imaging technician when necessary
  • Process images for interpretation and perform quality control tests on X-ray units

Required skills

  • ARRT certification
  • Ohio Radiologic License from the Department of Health
  • BLS certification
  • Thorough knowledge of medical imaging procedures and equipment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to function as a team member with limited supervision
