Overview

The Radiology Technologist at OhioHealth is responsible for preparing patients for examinations and performing diagnostic radiology procedures in accordance with established guidelines. The role emphasizes patient care and safety, ensuring quality imaging while supporting the healthcare team's goal of improving patient wellness and providing expert guidance in medical procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic procedures and conduct routine radiographic studies
  • Conduct specialized fluoroscopy studies using digital fluroscope equipment
  • Ensure radiation safety for both operator and patient
  • Obtain diagnostic radiographs by positioning patients and anatomical parts correctly
  • Critique images and repeat as necessary for optimal interpretation
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including making entries in electronic medical records
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients and ensure proper attire
  • Perform miscellaneous duties, including processing images and conducting QC tests on X-ray units

Required skills

  • Graduation from an accredited radiography program
  • ARRT certification and Ohio Radiologic License
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of medical imaging procedures and equipment
  • Ability to handle and administer ionizing radiation safely
  • Effective customer service skills and teamwork ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
