Overview

SSM Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist for their Urgent Care location in Brentwood, Missouri. The position involves taking x-rays for diagnostic purposes and providing support to the imaging department. This part-time role requires completion of a Radiology program and obtaining ARRT-R certification within six months of hire.

Key responsibilities

  • Explains procedures to patients to ensure their understanding
  • Transports patients and verifies their identity according to policies
  • Assists in preparing patients for radiology exams by positioning them correctly
  • Handles patient reports and charts, matching films to folders
  • Follows radiation safety procedures to minimize exposure
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the scope of practice
  • Observes patients during procedures and reports abnormal activities
  • Ensures high-quality submission of images and documents to PACS
  • Maintains equipment functionality and reports malfunctions
  • Keeps the department clean and orderly
  • May perform limited CT procedures in emergencies

Required skills

  • Completion of a Radiology Technology program
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • ARRT-R Radiography certification
  • Knowledge of radiation safety procedures
  • Ability to operate medical imaging equipment
