Job Description

Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist/CT Technologist for their facility in Raceland, Louisiana. This role is focused on assessing patients and performing routine CT procedures while following radiation safety protocols. The technologist will also serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Key responsibilities

  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures
  • Review patient images to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards
  • Perform quality control procedures and notify/remediate as necessary
  • Assist in departmental operations including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
  • Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, ensuring privacy and appropriate communication

Required skills

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • CT experience preferred
  • Registered by ARRT or CT registry eligible
  • Current unrestricted state license and Basic Life Support certification
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Windows-style applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
