Job Description

Overview

The Radiologic Technologist in the Radiology OR at UNC Health will conduct routine procedures and tests using radiology equipment to acquire patient diagnostic data, assist in intricate procedures, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role offers a $15,000 commitment incentive payable over three years for service in the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct routine procedures and tests using radiology equipment.
  • Prepare and assist the radiologist with intricate radiographic procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy of patient demographics and examination requests.
  • Critique and save radiographic images, transmitting to PACS.
  • Evaluate quality of radiographic images and maintain equipment.
  • Document all procedures in RIS and manage imaging information.
  • Obtain patient history and assess physical condition prior to examinations.
  • Ensure patient safety and respond to emergency situations.

Required skills

  • Knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology
  • Experience with RIS, PACS, and CIS systems
  • Radiation protection and safety knowledge
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences or equivalent
  • Registered or registry-eligible by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences
