Overview

The Radiologic Technologist at OhioHealth prepares patients for examinations and performs diagnostic radiology procedures in accordance with guidelines set by OhioHealth and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The role emphasizes patient care, safety, and effective communication while supporting a culture of learning and excellence in healthcare.

Key responsibilities

  • Conducts routine and specialized fluoroscopy studies using digital fluroscope equipment.
  • Prepares patients for examination, explaining procedures clearly and ensuring proper clothing and jewelry removal.
  • Positions patients and anatomical parts appropriately to obtain optimal radiographs.
  • Maintains radiation safety for patients and operators during procedures.
  • Critiques and processes images for interpretation, repeating as necessary.
  • Assumes duties of electronic imaging technician when required and performs quality control tests on X-ray units.
  • Documents procedures and patient interactions in electronic medical records.

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program

  • Ohio Radiologic License
