Overview

SSM Health is seeking a Radiation Therapist for their Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. In this role, you will administer radiation therapy to patients by exposing specific body areas to prescribed doses, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepares and positions patients accurately for treatment.
  • Delivers patient treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and dosimetrists.
  • Maintains detailed records of all therapy sessions.
  • Maintains and adjusts necessary equipment, including linear accelerators.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agency standards.
  • Submits high-quality images and documents to PACS.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly department.
  • Performs other assigned duties as needed.

Required skills

  • Completion of Radiation Oncology program
  • ARRT-T credential
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP)
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to maintain and operate medical equipment
  • Physical stamina for constant standing, walking, and lifting
