Overview

The Quarry Production Supervisor for the night shift at Martin Marietta's Medina Rock & Rail Quarry in Hondo, TX, will oversee multi-shift operations and ensure safety, productivity, and efficiency while maintaining quality control standards. This role includes interaction with plant personnel and requires regular monitoring of operations and staff performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct hourly workforce in plant operations including crushers and maintenance duties
  • Monitor production and quality control standards daily
  • Manage drilling and blasting activities in compliance with federal regulations
  • Assist management in mine planning and scheduling repairs
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company safety regulations
  • Conduct performance appraisals and training for staff
  • Maintain inventory control and ensure documentation accuracy
  • Coordinate staffing needs with management and HR

Required skills

  • High School diploma or GED; degree in Mining Engineering or related field preferred
  • 4 years of aggregate/mining experience
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations and compliance
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Proficiency with computer applications like Excel, CORE, JDE
  • Strong organizational and budgeting skills
  • Valid driver's license and good driving history
