Overview

Cadence Inc is looking for a Quality Technician- Group Lead in Suffield, Connecticut. This role is essential for ensuring the quality of precision-manufactured components in a regulated environment and involves both technical inspection and leadership responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections on precision metal components with tight tolerances
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements
  • Utilize precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and gages
  • Program and operate CMM equipment (e.g., Micro-Vu, Wenzel or similar systems)
  • Document inspection results and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Partner with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members
  • Function as a working lead and support daily production execution and workflow coordination
  • Act as a primary escalation point for quality issues

Required skills

  • 5-10 years of quality inspection experience in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Experience inspecting metal components with tight tolerances
  • Background in aerospace, medical device, or other regulated industries (ISO 13485 or similar)
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, and precision gaging
  • CMM operation experience (Micro-Vu, Wenzel, or similar)
  • Ability to work independently and make sound quality decisions
  • Prior experience in a lead or informal leadership role preferred
