Overview

Carl Buddig & Company is seeking a Quality Technician for their 2nd shift position in Homewood, Illinois. This role involves performing chemical and microbiological sampling and analysis to ensure product quality and adherence to safety standards. Key responsibilities

  • Perform chemical and microbiological sampling and analysis.
  • Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Host product cuttings for sensory analysis of finished products.
  • Review and verify daily HACCP/SSOP paperwork.
  • Assist with customer complaint investigations as needed.
  • Ensure quality assurance activities align with company policies.
  • Conduct in-plant process inspections and internal audits.
  • Perform environmental swabbing activities for compliance.
  • Contribute to plant quality improvement initiatives.

Required skills

  • Bachelors or equivalent experience in microbiology, chemistry, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of quality assurance/control laboratory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, and GMPs.
  • Experience with product inspections and plant audits.
  • Ability to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
