Job Description

Overview

Johnson Controls is seeking a Quality Systems Manager to join their federal team at the York, PA plant. This role is integral to ensuring compliance with internal, customer, ISO 9001, and regulatory requirements within the Quality Management System, while also driving improvements and efficiencies for the JCNS business.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance of the Quality Management System with customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead updates and modernization of digital solutions for QMS related systems.
  • Develop and maintain key performance metrics and dashboards.
  • Report on QMS performance and improvement needs to senior management.
  • Provide QMS training and manage training requirements and records.
  • Manage document and change control systems.
  • Oversee non-conforming material systems for discrepancies.
  • Develop and release procedures and standard work.
  • Manage corrective and preventative action systems.
  • Lead internal and external audit programs.
  • Organize and lead customer and regulatory audits.
  • Review and approve engineering and product documentation for compliance.
  • Manage supplier accreditation and performance.
  • Ensure flow down of quality system and customer requirements to suppliers.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs and enhance performance.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Metallurgy) or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience in heavy industrial, automotive, aerospace, or metal machining.
  • Strong knowledge of QMS and ISO 9000, TS 16949, or AS 9100.
  • Proficient with MS Office software, Minitab, or other quality data analysis tools.
  • Strong problem solving, data analysis, and measurement systems analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
  • Knowledge of Non-destructive inspection methods preferred.
  • Formal Lean and/or Six Sigma training.
