Job Description

Overview

The Quality & Metrology Technician at Micron Products is responsible for quality assurance and metrology functions to ensure products meet specifications. This role involves analyzing processes, identifying root causes, and collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams to drive improvements and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Adhere to company policies and provide training on documentation practices and quality system requirements.
  • Set up and operate inspection/metrology equipment, including CMMs and Vision Measurement Systems.
  • Establish measurement methodologies and create inspection work instructions.
  • Schedule and manage measurement activities, including Gage R&R and Bias studies.
  • Support manufacturing and product development teams with metrology recommendations.
  • Document and analyze production data to ensure quality expectations are met.
  • Assist in developing measurement qualifications for validation plans.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or minimum 5 years in a Metrologist role.
  • Medical device manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficient in CMM operation and programming (3-5 years experience with Hexagon PC-DMIS).
  • Understanding of metrology and statistical analysis, including SPC.
  • Working knowledge of plastics injection molding and metal manufacturing.
  • Understanding of drawing interpretation including GD&T.
  • Experience with ERP systems (IQMS preferred) and familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA CFR 820.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab.
