Job Description

Overview

Boeing is seeking a hands-on Quality Manager for Software Quality Engineering to join their Quality & Lean Organization. The role involves leading a team of Software Quality Engineers in support of mission-critical aerospace and defense programs while aligning software quality engineering priorities with program needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Software Quality Engineers.
  • Translate program technical and contractual requirements into SQE priorities.
  • Define and implement SQE processes, checklists, and metrics.
  • Provide approval and oversight of technical approaches and software verification strategies.
  • Coordinate supplier SQE activities and assess supplier deliverables.
  • Identify and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Maintain productive relationships with stakeholders and resolve elevated SQE issues.

Required skills

  • Leadership experience (1+ year in a formal role or completion of relevant coursework).
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 5+ years supporting software development programs.
  • 1+ year supporting software quality engineering with AS9115 and/or DO-178 requirements.
  • Experience with Agile software development and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps tooling and secure software development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of safety-critical development standards (DO-178B/C or equivalent).
  • Experience coordinating supplier quality assurance for embedded or avionics software.
