Overview

Boeing is seeking a Quality Manager for Software Quality Engineering to join their Quality & Lean Organization. This leadership role involves managing a team of Software Quality Engineers to support critical aerospace and defense programs, ensuring software compliance, reliability, and safety.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Software Quality Engineers across multiple programs.
  • Align SQE priorities with program needs and define workload expectations.
  • Implement SQE processes, checklists, and metrics for software compliance.
  • Oversee technical approaches and verification strategies for software quality.
  • Coordinate supplier SQE activities and assess deliverables for quality.
  • Drive continuous process improvements and address technical quality issues.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders and resolve elevated SQE issues.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in software development programs
  • 1+ year of experience in software quality engineering with AS9115 or DO-178 requirements
  • Experience with software verification, reviews, or testing
  • Leadership experience or completion of Boeing's internal 'Exploring Leadership' course
  • Familiarity with Agile development and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of safety-critical development standards like DO-178B/C
  • Experience in Software Quality Engineering practices
