Job Description

Overview

General Devices Co Inc is seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead quality efforts and support inspection activities in their manufacturing facility. The role involves participating in product verification on the shop floor and developing a quality team over time while maintaining ISO 9001 standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet specifications
  • Read and interpret prints, tolerances, and customer requirements
  • Manage nonconforming material and support production teams with quality issues
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Lead external audits and manage corrective actions and documentation
  • Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement
  • Support supplier quality requirements and address customer quality concerns
  • Assist in hiring and developing a Quality Technician/Inspector

Required skills

  • 5+ years in manufacturing quality
  • GD&T experience
  • Strong inspection skills (calipers, micrometers)
  • Experience with ISO 9001 systems and audits
  • Understanding of metal fabrication processes
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership or supervisory experience (preferred)
  • ASQ certification (CQE, CQM, etc.) (preferred)
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
