Job Description

Overview

The Quality Manager at Hogge Precision will play a critical leadership role in maintaining AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards while guiding the next phase of operational and quality-system growth. This role is pivotal as the company seeks to uphold its strong reputation in aerospace and precision machining industries.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the quality department within a precision CNC machining environment
  • Serve as the management representative during AS9100 and ISO audits
  • Oversee quality planning for new jobs and production launches
  • Develop inspection plans and measurement strategies based on customer drawings and GD&T requirements
  • Define measurement methods, tooling, inspection flow, and quality documentation processes
  • Support APQP, PPAP, FAI, and customer-specific quality requirements
  • Review dimensional requirements and determine appropriate inspection methods and gauging
  • Collaborate closely with machinists, programmers, engineering, and production teams
  • Maintain customer-facing communication regarding quality, corrective actions, and audits
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing and inspection processes

Required skills

  • 5+ years leading quality operations in aerospace CNC machining environment
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Experience managing audits and serving as company representative during certification audits
  • Strong machining background and understanding of CNC manufacturing processes
  • Experience with blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
  • Hands-on experience with precision inspection tools and measurement systems
  • Experience developing inspection plans and quality processes for new production jobs
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Leadership experience managing or mentoring quality teams
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience with CMM programming or vision systems
  • Experience with Mitutoyo MCosmos software
  • Background in APQP / PPAP environments
  • Medical or aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Experience supporting high-mix precision machining operations
